Budget Analyst
This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: The Budget Analyst, GS-0560-12 is located in Vaihingen, Stuttgart region on Patch Barracks performing various budget functions involving the formulation, justification, and execution of budgets for organizations, programs, or projects.
- Analyze headquarters program and budgetary guidance.
- Identify requirements short-falls and trade-offs and prepare appropriate supporting documentation.
- Allocate funds to individual activities/functional areas based on an analysis of activity budget estimates, historical expenditures, projected workload, and approved funding.
- Provide local budget policy and procedures, budget formulation assumptions, and format and schedule service organizations for budget submissions.
- Receive approved fund targets for assigned accounts.
- Review, analyze, edit, and consolidate budget submissions.
- Formulate and justify a segment of the command budget, and a major segment of the organization budget or a total budget for one or more funds.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: (1) evaluating continual changes in programs funding to recommend budgetary action; (2) analyzing budget estimates for project funding; AND (3) providing financial advisory recommendations in accordance with budget policies and regulations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
