Junior Engineer (Design)


Hours: Full-Time 35 Hours Work Location: 30-30 Thomson Avenue, LIC, NY 11101 Only candidates who are permanent in the Civil Engineering Intern title or those who are reachable on the open-competitive list (exam #5047) or filed for the open-competitive exam #6116 may apply. The Department of Design & Construction, Division of Infrastructure, is currently seeking Junior Engineers to join our Design Unit Section 2.Successful candidates will be provided with hands-on training and will contribute to a range of engineering tasks, from moderate to complex. Responsibilities include conducting research studies, engineering investigations, and assessments related to various engineering functions. Additionally, the candidates will carry out civil engineering tasks of moderate complexity under the supervision of an Engineer-In-Charge. The scope of work and training encompasses one or more of the following specialized areas: design, drafting, engineering investigations, cost estimation, specification writing, structural calculations, conducting field surveys, and participating in design-related site inspections.Please note: All candidates must be currently authorized to work full-time in the United States (U.S.). Requirements

1. A baccalaureate degree in civil engineering from an accredited college. A degree in any other engineering area or in civil engineering technology is not acceptable.
