Position Summary:

We are seeking a practical, service-oriented Information Technology Manager for a hands-on individual-contributor role supporting employees and coordinating outside technology partners. This position will be the internal owner of day-to-day technology service and business alignment, supported by a managed IT provider for specialized infrastructure and security functions.

The Information Technology Manager will maintain a working understanding of the company's technology environment and remain accountable for service quality while partnering with our managed IT provider. Advanced infrastructure, cybersecurity operations, backup and recovery, and major escalations will be handled collaboratively under documented responsibilities and shared company oversight.

Job Duties:

  • Employee support. Provide responsive Level 1 and Level 2 support for Windows computers, printers, monitors, conference rooms, connectivity, Microsoft 365 applications, and common business technology issues.
  • Mobile devices. Order, activate, configure, deploy, troubleshoot, replace, and retire company phones and iPads using carrier business portals, Apple Business Manager, and Jamf Now or successor tools.
  • Onboarding and offboarding. Coordinate timely device preparation, account requests, access changes, equipment recovery, and documented checklists with Human Resources, managers, and the managed service provider.
  • Device lifecycle and inventory. Maintain accurate records for computers, mobile devices, accessories, warranties, assignments, software, and replacement schedules.
  • Field and site support. Assist offices, shops, and project teams with jobsite connectivity, mobile workflows, printing, tablets, remote access, and technology setup.
  • Business application support. Serve as the internal liaison for company applications; help users, coordinate vendors, document recurring issues, test changes, and escalate technical defects.
  • Vendor coordination. Manage service requests and projects with technology vendors; confirm ownership, priorities, completion, documentation, and business impact.
  • Documentation and continuity. Maintain clear procedures, system and vendor inventories, renewal calendars, support contacts, access records, and recovery information in company-controlled systems.
  • Security participation. Reinforce company security practices, escalate suspicious activity promptly, assist with awareness training, and partner with the managed provider on remediation.
  • Planning and budgeting. Recommend practical improvements, prepare annual equipment and licensing plans, evaluate costs, and communicate risks and priorities to management.

    Qualifications: Education and Experience:

An associate or bachelor's degree in information technology, computer information systems, computer science, or a related field is preferred. Three or more years of progressively responsible experience in IT support, systems administration, or technology operations is preferred; equivalent combinations of education, technical training, certifications, and professional experience will be considered.

    Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong hands-on troubleshooting skills with Windows endpoints, Microsoft 365, printers, networking basics, remote-support tools, and mobile devices.
  • Experience supporting iPhones and iPads in a business environment; familiarity with Apple Business Manager and mobile-device management is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to organize competing requests, communicate clearly with nontechnical employees, document work, and follow issues through resolution.
  • Demonstrated judgment with confidential information, privileged access, cybersecurity concerns, and vendor relationships.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel among company locations and jobsites. Occasional after-hours availability may be required for urgent incidents or planned changes.

    Preferred Experience:

  • Construction, manufacturing, field service, or another distributed and operationally demanding environment.
  • Microsoft Entra ID/Active Directory, endpoint management, identity and access administration, and ticketing systems.
  • Jamf Now, Apple Business Manager, Verizon or AT&T business portals, ScreenConnect, and website or software-as-a-service (SaaS) administration.
  • Vendor and contract management, IT budgeting, asset management, cybersecurity coordination, and process improvement.

Compensation and Benefits:

Salary range: $75,000-$110,000 annually, based on relevant experience, technical capabilities, and qualifications.
